My emergency brake is not engaged and the light keeps beeping and flashing...what is wrong?

First the illumination for the gear shift went out..all others are working fine. Then this morning after disengaging the emergency brake the light on the dash kept beeping and flashing like it was still engaged.

Pull up on the e brake pedal as you pull the release handle. Pedal might not be all the way up.
There is also a button at the end of the emergency brake. When you push the pedal down the end of the lever compresses the button. The button may be sticking and you can just decompress the switch or it might be totally broken and you can either disable it or replace it.

I was having the same problems and was told to replace front brake line, corrected my parking brake problem.
