Why won't it start?

Asked by Jlowry555 Nov 16, 2015 at 10:46 AM about the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have changed valve cover gaskets, ignition coils,
spark plugs, fuel pump, and battery. The car turns
over and sputters like it wants to start but it won't.

I have a 2001 eclipse spyder it turns over but won't start just paid 1200 for my motor to get dropped ..then my battery had the wrong wires on in so I paid 50 more for my wires to get mounted down from my battery then it was just cutting off every 3min an eventually would die I put it in the shop he said he can't see nothing wrong with it but some wired that's not suppose to be there could it cause it not to crank

my 2002 GT eclipse spyder would turn off. by it self. if I used the ignition (starter) to try to start it! it would not. but if I was rolling and I popped the clutch it would start every time. it turned out to be the timing belt sensor.

Could be crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor, or distributor if you're getting fuel but no spark.
