have 2006 sebring pulled up to parking garage to get ticket and the car just died with no electrical could not get it out of park any answers

Is there any electricity to the vehicle when you turn the key to the on position?

jumped the car got it started, now it is stuck in first gear and the check engine light is on took it to a local dealer? waiting on digonistic.

Sounds like either a problem with the computer or the transmission. I know that the transmission used in the Sebring will sometimes lock up and the only way to repair it is to replace it.

Just had a very similar problem, car wouldn't get out of first. It was the oxygen sensor, a very simple fix. Please let us know if you found a solution.
