Man you messed up. The computer handles the charging circuits and cause you disconnected main power without hooking up a memory saver tool into the ODB 2 port it lost some control system programming, so that is why the charge light came on after repairs. I suggest you put everything back to the way it was, then find a shop that can redo the programming. You might have to go to the dealer but I hope you don’t as it will be expensive to do so.
Oh boy, this isn't the '70s where you can add on stuff that doesn't belong there! Remove that mess and recheck your work. You have a fire waiting to happen! Something dealing with the alternator got put back together wrong! Jim
Chrysler forums recommended by passing the ecm control of the regulator which others have done and successfully fixed it,my main question was why would it lose power if the battery was disconnected b4 I started working on it, been doing this 55 years and have never had a problem with anything I've ever done, with the external regulator hooked up to 12v keyed ignition spliced into one of the regulator wires there's power to the regulator plug hookup which wasn't b4!!
