Were you having trouble with the charging system before the work? If not, then put it back to factory. If you were. then you still need to put it back and then run systems check and repair or replace what went bad.

If Chrysler wanted an external voltage regulator on the vehicle they would have put one on there at the factory! Jim

Gene,no it wasn't giving me a problem until I took the alternator off to get to the air conditioning compressor and of course with the battery disconnected, put it back together and then that's when the battery light came on, I just got done putting it back to factory wiring and took off the external regulator, started it up and no change, light's on!!!

Then unfortunately your vehicle is one of those vehicles that needed a saver tool plugged into OBD port before main power was disconnected. So now the dealer will have to do a "Flash" on the computer system to bring it all back online. In my area it runs 100 bucks.
