Swapped Motors now I can't get over 2500 rpm

Asked by Shortybg Oct 27, 2019 at 12:03 AM about the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Limited LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Removed it 2005 Chrysler Town & Country motor and
replaced it with a 2004 Dodge Caravan motor. Both 3.8
exactly the same except a little bit of changing with wiring.
Now it will only hit about 2500 rpm and no more. Not sure
if I miss something. Looking for a little help

I would guess there are incompatible sensors etc that won't work with your ECU. That "little bit" of changes is probably not that little after all.

Correct, it's time to have a mechanic scan it to see if they can get it to work with your current ECU.
