the Starter on my 93 Century with the 3.3 Liter engin won't turn when I turn the key to the start position.

Asked by dhr_17n18 Nov 18, 2014 at 10:00 PM about the 1993 Buick Century Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The starter won't turn when the key is turned to start.  there are no clicking sounds like
the solenoid engaging, just nothing.  the battery is good and all lights and electronics
work.

A friend told me these models are notorious for ground wires corroding or breaking on
the starter.  Could this be the problem.  I can't even see where the starter is on the car
much less see the wiring.  Is there a fuse to the starter motor that could be blown?
Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

First check battery cable,s on the battery and make sure there clean and tight, then check the cable,s all the way to starter and check the ground wire all so,then check the starter, which i think may be your issue,it is located under car in the back of the engine, about center way of fire wall.you may can tap it with hammer and make it turn over, but this will not fix it,if you havent put one on it in a while it may be time to do so,last but not least would be the igintion switch itself, but i think you may need a new stater.
