Buick Lacrosse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 06 buick lacrosse v.6 3.8 after
getting front tires put on my car immidiately
my car will not go over 40 mph. Took to the
dealership and was told i needed a throttle
body and had a short in my wiring. They
replaced the wiring and i replaced the
throttle body. I have a speed sensor 1-2
correlation code and my problem still exists.
Any ideas?

The new tires do not have any relationship to your throttle body. It is possible that the tire shop damaged a wheel speed sensor wire. If the dealer is charging you a lot of money for the repairs, take it to a good independent shop.
Will the wheel speed sensor affect my acceleration? My cruise control no longer works and the service engine soon light is on (not the check engine light) the diagnostics from the dealership says speed sensor 1-2 correlation.
The wheel speed sensor might cause the ABS light to come on but would have no connection to the engine, not sure about the cruise control.
You said a short in wiring. What wire?
The dealership said a short in wiring to the throttle body but they reolaced the wires
So they replaced the throttle body and you car still won't go over 40? Clearly there needs to be more diagnosis. I can't tell you much without more information but have them check the catalytic converter.
What kind of motor oil goes into a 06 Buick LaCrosse?
I had this same issue. Car would start bogging down around 60mph. It was a broken seal allowing oil on a spark plug. Hope you got it fixed. If anyone doesn't mind please see my issue and let me know if you can help. Thanks. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c7702_ds1087144
