MAF

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was idling high dying while I was driving it
went to AutoZone had it scanned told me it was
the mass air flow sensor so I change that out. Now
my heater won't work it pushes out cold air and I
had it running for 30 minutes or more taking the
kids to school. It's too cold in Colorado to not have
a heater anything you guys can suggest that I do?

I suspect when you changed the MAF you somehow failed to reconnect the vacumm port or broke the fitting. On many 3800 engines, there is a black plastic vacumm fitting with 4 connections....sort of looks like a big "H" one of the lines goes to the heater control to use vacumm to open and close the heater vents. Another clue...usually the cruise control will not work because it is not getting vacumm.
