Nothing happens when I turn key

Asked by Joseph Sep 05, 2017 at 08:14 PM about the 1999 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: General

Hello I have a 1999 buick lesabre and about every
other time I go to start the car I turn the key and
nothing happens, no clicking, no grinding or
anything. But after I wait a minute or two it starts up
completely fine. I've gotten a new battery and put a
new starter in and nothing has fixed it. Switching
gears or pressing on the break does not help at all.
Anyone know what could cause this? Thank you!

Could be a fuel problem. Try turning the key to ON but not start.......wait 30 seconds for the fuel pump to built pressure and then try Start....if that works, you could have a bad fuel pump OR just a bad pressure valve that is letting the fuel pressure leak down when you park the car.

I hope you have your issue fixed. My aunt had this same issue with her car and it was the positive cable on her battery had a bad connection
