chevy k2500 5.7 liter not going into park

my chevy will not go back into park, i replaced the shift interlock solenoid, still
wont go into park, any one know why

Check the cable and linkage and also the gear selector switch. If it remember right there was some problems with them back then.

it was the steering column shift mechanism, a part of the alluminum just broke, an lodged itself in between two other pieces, wich held it in place, but moved just enough to use all the other gears but not park.
