Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am getting evap/emissions fault codes...I plan to replace the evap canister
and the evap purge solenoid which is located on the side of the throttle
body on my vortec 5.7.  I am blowing out (light compressed air) all the evap
lines that run from tank to these devices.  My question:  is there a evap
device, like some kind of evap valve located near the tank, or above it.  I
would prefer not to drop the tank to look for it, but I want to be thorough
and replace all the evap devices.  This truck went for a "swim" a few
months back, and unfortunately,  I am sure the water ingress in the evap
devices and lines have caused this fault code...the truck actually runs fine,
but I need to make these codes go away and solve them.  Anyone know
where I can source these parts for some cheap dollars...the can itself it like
almost 100 bucks new.  A can of charcoal and a valve...how bout them
apples...expensive charcoal no doubt.  the main thing, I need  to know if
there is some kind of evap device or switch or valve that is located top of
tank,..I;'ve been under the truck several times with inspection mirror, and
light and I can't seem to find anything that looks like a evap switch or
valve...I traced the overfill pipe, looking for it that way also, and I came up
donuts.  any ideas?

Here is a generic EVAP diagram that might help. Have you added a water remover to your fuel tank?

thanks for the generic, but I am looking for anyone that can confirm whether my specific vehicle has an evap device at or near the tank. On the water question, I have a buddy remove all the fuel and fluid from the tank (we have a fluid pump we used where I work, that is used to evacuate all fluids from fuel compartments at work, then we used a explosion proof blower to evap any and all vapors. I can say with confidence, that tank is free of water..I'm not a big fan of putting any kind of water remover products into fuel...they get combusted, and that can spell serious problems with valves, plugs, seals, etc..just never had the confidence to use any of them. I appreciate your feedback ...any ideas about the evap device in this specific vehicle at or near the tank would be appreciated. I could of course, just drop the tank, and go looking, but I am confident someone else here has some knowledge. kudo anyway friend!
