I have a 1996 with a 5.0 which should be the same and my #3 is right behind the passengers side #2 oxygen sensor at the Y-connection of the exhaust pipe (single exhaust.

I had the same code and with a scanner I saw that it was reading -0- on the #3 and what I found was that the sensor was not connected at all. I will be looking for the other connector from the wiring harness later today and plug it in because at first I could not find it. I will come back and let you know.

I was wondering the same thing on my 93. I shorted out the a/b on the OBD2 and it shows that I have a code 13 which is the oxygen sensor. The only one I know about on mine is by the Y in the muffler. I got it in the mail today but I haven't been home long enough to put it in and see if that's the issue. I'm told some have one and some have two. Have you figured yours out yet?
