Why doesn't my fuel system bypass the fuel correctly?

Asked by owencook16 Mar 25, 2023 at 03:39 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've changed my fuel regulator, fuel injectors, fuel
pump and filter and everytime i turn my truck on with
starter fluid in the TBI it dies bogs out and dies after
15 seconds. I've checked the fuel pressure and it's
good at 11 psi!  If anybody has suggestions on where
to look or what to repair it would help a lot! Also i'm
only getting fuel to pass through my left injector but
no fuel spits out of the right injector. Again any
suggestions would help out tremendously!

are both injectors getting a signal/pulse ? Use a noid light and see . Are there any intake leaks ? with only one injector working the motor may die , you shouldn't need starter fluid on start up unless only one injector is working I guess

to my knowledge there are no intake leaks! i'll definetly head to oreillys tomorrow and get a noid light! any other recommendations?

Double check the fuel pressure specs. Eleven PSI is good for the old carburetor fuel systems but it sounds low for a fuel injection system. Check your spark plugs. What do the electrodes look like? Black sooty electrodes mean to much fuel (rich mixture) which could be a bad coolant temperature sensor. White electrodes mean too little fuel or too much air (lean mixture) which can be bad fuel injectors, poor fuel pressure, or a vacuum leak. You might also have a bad MAP sensor or oxygen sensor too. Hope that helps! Jim
