12 to 15 city 14 to 18 highway
I just installed a rebuilt 305 into my 88 4x4 and driving sensibly I'm getting 23 on the highway and about 16 city.
With my 1992 reg cab 8ft bed 4x4 I am getting a consistent 15-16mpg 80%hwy 20%city. But I am running 32x11.50's on 15x8's.
City and highway driving like its stolen i get around 16 miles per gallon. I want to get a better intake manifold and stuff and make the fuel/air ratio leaner
my truck which is a 92' extended cab only gets about 9 city 12 highway. but in th quarter-mile she runs about 13.3 so its worth it.
If it's the '91 C1500 you list, then EPA says it gets 14/19 (city/highway) if it has the 5-speed manual or 14/17 if it has the 4-speed auto.
Yeah, I think "Greg" needs to brush up on his math! ANY small block chevy in a pickup getting over 20 is a dream! Had a '99 ext cab 4x4, 5.3l auto trans w/Power Tower installed & got 20 mpg on it's best day, avg. 16-18 mpg on highway. 23 mpg in a 4 wd is IMPOSSIBLE. I've owned several small block chevy cars w/305's, sb 400's, and 23 was best mpg with them. I've owned over 17 chevy's, so I challenge anyone who's claiming over 20 in a 4x4!
