2001 gmc sierra 5.3 engine doesn't run in drive

Hello  I have a 2001 GMC sierra 5.3 engine  her
name is patches and she's really sick I really need
your help:(  she runs On some gears?   (4hR yes )
(4H2 yes) (4H1 yes )( 4LR yes )(4L2 yes )(4L1 yes
)the only gears it won't run in is 4HD, 4H3,// 4LD//
2HD  is not catching and there's a noise when I put
it into park.

Could be in the transfer case, could be in the trany. I would suggest taking patches to a good transmission shop for proper diagnosis.

Patches sounds more like parts needed but something might be fed up in ol patches trans.
