Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 x-type starts okay but when I try to drive it needs  alot of revs to move it like as if the brakes are being held down and the brakes take alot of pressure to stop it, is in limp mode, also shows trans fault, engine light is on. A friend put a code tester on it and it only gave a code 00001 and also said lean fuel. I don't drive it at all because of chance of damaging something internally of the engine or transmission. It would be a shame to scrap the car the interior is perfect except headliner as is the rest of the car.

I plan on doing that Tom I just dont want to drive the car incase theres any damage caused from driving I guess in the new year I will get a wrecker to take it to the local Jaguar dealer about 30 miles away be expensive but worth it to not do anymore damage.

I presume what the car drives in is limp mode I notice a number of people say its 4th gear, I just know I have to have alot of revs to go forward and gives the appearance that the brakes are holding on. but it drives in reverse as it should and rolls backwards as it should.
