I read that you put a class one hitch on a kia spectra 2007. Was that hitch made by curt? How much did you have done to modify it? clint69ers@yahoo.com

Not sure who you are asking, but you may want to visit your Kia dealer, who should have some hitches available that will fit without modification.
I asked the Kia Dealer where I bought it & they dont offer a hitch. Thanks Dave
I put a Curt hitch on my 2007 Spectra5. It was only listed for 2005 and 2006 Spectra5's and said 30 minute install time. More like 3 hours. One metal part on the driver's side was visably bent. I had to hammer another part to get a hole to line up. Two other holes were drilled about 1/2 inch off OR a bracket was welded in the wrong place. Either way I had to oval out the holes to get bolts into them. With all those modifications, I would worry about towing very much using that hitch. I'm using it for mounting my bicycle hitch rack so total weight is only about 100 lbs.
Thanks for your imput. Iam finding that I may have to have it welded on the vehicle or have extensions welded onto the existing holes to match up the holes on the frame. I wonder if the hitch can be welded onto the frame? Do you know? I do know that either way the hitch is going to work. I also am using it for my bike rack & just bought a ski rack that goes over the top of the bike rack. Thanks Dave
I would not weld a hitch on. If you had an accident, it could make repairs very difficult. The Curt hitch should fit a 2007 sedan. You might want to have a hitch or camper company put it on. They probably have seen it all as far as bending and redrilling things to get them to work.
Thanks, I spent alot of time grinding & am going to take your advive on not welding the hitch to the frame. I will however need to have extra parts welded to the hitch,-to match the hole in the frame. Alot of work to get this to work. I think in the end this hitch & bike rack, ski rack will work great!!!
