my inlaw pushes gas and raises foot off, then pushes and raises foot. reapeating cycle over and over. she has a 2003 honda accord. i want to say it will damage her fuel pump and fuel injectors, but i am not sure what else she may be messing up. any factual knowlege would be great

I think she will too the on off on the pedal puts undue stress on the fuel pump and injectors....tell her nicely to stop

Fuel injected cars should be started by leaving the foot off of the gas pedal and starting the engine. Gone are the days when you would pump the pedal to get the carburetor to squirt gas into the manifold from the accelerator pump. Tell her not to do that.

She is a nervous driver- some people have these bad driving habits- like riding the brakes- now that her brain is hard-wired all you can do is insist on driving-
