I just bought a 2007 Lincoln Town Car Signature Ltd. It does not feel like you're riding on a cloud. I feel every bump in the road. What has happened to the so-called cushy air ride

Question type: General

Lincoln Town Cars have always been known for the "riding on a cloud" feel when driving down the road.  I feel every bump in the road.  What's wrong and what does it take to restore it.

Does it have aftermarket custom wheels with skinny sidewall tires? Does it still have the air suspension in tact and working properly? Are the tires over-inflated? Do the shock absorbers have oily residue on the outside of the tube? These are just a few things to inspect. A 2007 Lincoln should ride very soft and quiet.

Thank you Kelly and Bob for your replies. I will have to have an expert check these things out. There is only 52,000 miles on the car. It is quiet inside when driving; just bumpy all the time. Maralyn

I presume you've already remedied your situation, if not however, your shocks and struts on those vehicles are what give you your "floating" feeling. Best of luck.

Put Continenal tires on it. That is what its supposed to have. Check your shocks and springs.
