How to open fuel assembly

Asked by Michael May 17, 2019 at 12:16 PM about the 2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good morning, I'm working on changing the fuel
pump in my Yaris. I've watched a video on YouTube
so I'm clearly an expert.

At this point I have the fuel assembly visible, and
disconnected, but I can't for the life of me unscrew
it. I've hit it with a screwdriver and hammer counter
clockwise but it is just starting to break off white
bits now. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Michael

I bought a much bigger screwdriver. Turns out everything can be solved with the appropriate amount of force.

I wasn't a member of this network ,when you asked but , to unscrew that ,you need a 63000 Fuel Tank Lock Ring Tool - Lisle Corporation
