Car won't defrost on passenger side

It sounds like your heater core is bad. the sweet smell is anti-freeze. check on the floor on the passenger side to see if there is anything leaking.
The heay still blows But would that mean the heater core is still gone
It could be a bad connection. Make sure the leak is not the cable connections or a hose leak. the leaking fluid may of clogged the draft and prevented it from opening. A grand seems like a lot of money to replace that item. Shop around at good shops to fix it if need be. Go on line and you will find a new heater corps for $58.00. there is also instructions on how to remove and replace it. Save about $942 if you do it yourself. Also check on what the estimated time to replace it is. If a shop charges $100 an hour and it is a two hours job, total cost should be $250?????
We have an Equinox 2016 with 17,000 miles on it.The windshield is fogging up even on a clear day.We have the sweet smell of the antifreeze with no apparent leaks inside,the fan is working but only clearing the very bottom of the windshield and mostly just the passenger side.Any ideas before we decide where to take it.
