Need help please

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My tranny doesnt going
into gear.  The motor
will just rev up in every
gear.  The picture im
putting up with this
post is a of a part of
the tranny you can see
after i took the pan off
the bottom of the
tranny.  Im not sure if it
is supposed to look like
that or if it broke.

Dark brown transmission fluid is not a good sign. I think it is time for a new transmission.

Put the pan back on and fill with the correct type of fluid and to the proper level at the correct temperature. Check youtube on how to do this. and see if it continues to shift as before. If not, then FOR is right, time for a rebuild or remanufactured transmission. Repairing one is not a home DIY.
