2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro - 109,000 miles maintenance/longvity

Asked by Starlorde6 Apr 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM about the 2006 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm fully aware every car is different due to how well you take care of it, and I
ALWAYS maintain regulary, never waiting for an oil change, too. I'm
currently at 109,000 with it and have already replaced the 3 major parts that
had issues in 2006/2007 A4s, including the timing belt and all the bells and
whistles that went with the belt. In the next couple of months, I've been
informed I have to replace the Intake CAM, vacuum pump, right upper
control arm bushings, as well as right inner CU boots. All of these repairs are
going to cost me $3,360 with labor included, which would be about the same
price I would get if I sold the car. My question is if I do all those repairs,
should I be prepared for more expensive maintenance work down the line?
Or should I go ahead and sell the car? I've put $4,000 in
repairs/maintenance since August.

First Do whats right for you! I only suggest considering an upgrade the money you spent on the A4 will never be recovered. The only way to win, is if you're in love with this A4 and want drive for the next 7-8 years. It appears you take outstanding care of your vehicle(s), some Autos are inherently better in terms of design and systems layout. Review vehicles, read NOT consumer report...and ask colleagues about there experience with a particular model if they own what you have become interested a specific model. Sell yours invest $4000 towards a Newer model .... Just a thought. European autos are always more expensive to maintain. Regards

Audi is one of those brands that is very expensive to repair. Others are BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Mini. You could make it last a very long time, but that will cost money, probably lots of it. I would consider getting rid of it and moving on to another vehicle as very expensive repairs are probably just around the corner.
