Hey guys I'm thinking about converting my 1968 Ford Mustang's manual steering to power steering and I wondered if you guys had any suggestions? I'm on cjponyparts.com and they have 2 items that I am interested in, an electric power steering conversion kit or a Borgeson power steering conversion kit

Hmm....what about a manual rack with higher-ratio steering? Might be a hell of a lot easier/cheaper.. Just throwing my .02 out there. Cool car by the way.

Thank you for your responses! Sometimes its difficult to get some good answers
The Jan 2014 issue of Mustang Monthly actually has an article on the electric power steering. It seems easier to install and absolutely no chance for leaks and it is adjustable.

I recently installed electric power steering in a 1966 Mustang. I did not use a kit, I simply pulled a column style EPS from a newer GM vehicle and then spliced the unit into the original steering column. The results far exceeded my expectations and the cost was less than $200. I designed a controller that automatically adjusts assist level based on vehicle speed, so that the steering feel is "just right" regardless of speed. I documented (with pictures) how I went about this on a Vintage Mustang forum. If anyone is interested do a google search for "Best $200 mod ever (EPS)" or follow this link to page 7 where the details start: =http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/mod-custom-forum/787114-best-200-mod-ever-eps-7.html#post6037649 Any questions just ask.
im 15, i just bought a 1968 mustang coupe, i want this car to be fast but i also would like to have disc breaks and power steering. im on a budget, so i could either go all in on the motor, or have a stock v8 with power steering and dangerous drum breaks. any ideas on how i could install disc breaks and power steering for as cheap as possible?
