Check your coil. I have had this happen on two vehicles and both times it was the coil.
When you look at your distributor you will see wires leading to each spark plug. You will also notice an additional wire. This wire leads to your coil, which gives your spark plugs the high energy spark to detonate the gasoline. The purpose of the distributor is to send the sparks to the individual spark plugs. The coil is what I would replace (cheap compared to distributor). Hope this makes sense and best of luck!

Thanks Michael. but isnt the coil inside the dustributor

Where is the coil and what does it look like?
Well I just learned something. On your car the coil is part of the distributor. I also learned that if it cranks but will not start, that the most common reason for your Integra is the Main Relay which is located under the dash and usually near the steering column.

I have this exact problem. I put in a new fuel pump filter, main relay, and got a fuel pump from the junkyard. It still will not turn on. What was your problem? The same thing might've happened to me.
danielavilia123 - could you please share what your mechanic determined to be the problem? I own a 1990 Acura Integra LS with the same symptoms. I've replaced a number of parts and still, the car cranks strong like it wants to start, but will not turn over. It has been awhile now and I am getting very frustrated with the situation. If you could please share what you have determined, that would be awesome brother. I can be directly mailed at devores_hogan@yahoo.com. thank you in advance.
I have a Acura integra 2001 2 door it cranks sounds like it wants to start but won't I
First thing is first.. Has your timing belt snapped....? If so then the car may be a total loss. If it didn't snap, do you hear the pump hum when you turn the key three times before the crank? If yes it's not that....run codes....did any codes pop up beside the usual o2 sensor? Then if no it is not a sensor and you will not be needing a distributor which you only will need the $220 item if the sensor is bad. Now check the relay....do you hear the click? If yes then it's not a relay. Check fuses. No? Now check your spark.....have someone stick a screwdriver in TWO different wires. TWO tests....You NEVER know if you are testing the one bad wire lol. It has happened....ok no Sparks? It's either your ignition control module....the cap and rotor....or your ignition coil (the ignitor unit) and all that is inside the distributor and still half the price than a new distributor. If you test the coil and get no spark then there you go. I absolutely suggest replacing the cap and rotor, the coil and control module. Look u videos on it. Easy job just a Philips head is all you will need and multimeter. Lastly.....how do app those little wires look inside the distributor? Don't you dare put those new items on those old wires. Clean up everything in there....you will start your car again. When it starts keep an eye on that engine light. Grab the check code asap. And.....have you noticed any belt squeeling lately when it starts? If yes then then guess what...it's the distributor components as sensors do not squeel and you only need a new distributor when that sensor blows inside the distributor and the noise is not your fan belt..I can bet you. I'm a girl and I loooove these imports! :) Good luck!!
Felicia Barbato - WOW!! that is the most through and specific answer I have ever received about car problems, thank you very much, you are just amazing!!
My 2000 Integra GS (B18B1) cranks like a dream, but won't fire. We towed the car an hour to an official Honda dealership / garage. I first assumed it was the security system cutting off the fuel pump. It was not the security system. The guys at Honda suggested replacing the distributor. Distributor was replaced with a new one. After removing the old distributor we noticed that the distributor was indeed going bad. However, replacing it did nothing to help my problem. We are getting spark just fine and have been. There is no problem with the timing belt. We also checked the fuel filter, no problems there either. Some guy in this thread mentioned main relay? That is the only thing i have not checked, and will do so today. I will do a thorough inspection of my fuses. My fingers are crossed. I been trying to figure this out for months now.

I have a 2001 acura integra that started intermittently, after several cranks, sputtered and cut off periodically.I explored all the possibilities Felicia impressionbly suggested...except, the crankshaft position sensor. Had the sensor replaced and that was the end of my problem.

Sorry to the people who have asked but I never responded to. My problem was a killswitch that my brother activated in the back seat! A freaking killswitch! Towed it to a mechanic and he ran it through a machine to see where to short was coming from and ended up finding a killswitch in the back seat! Hope this helps someone who is stuck with this problem.
