Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi. My car is shaking when I accelerate
between 40 and 60 but if I let off the had it
stops. I thought maybe it was the tire
going flat, then thought that maybe it was
BC we were running low on gas and
maybe ktnwas running out. We put gas in,
went inside the store, left about 1 1/2 later
and went about 8 miles before it started
the same thing. My GPA test drove it last
night, took about 6- 7 mins before it
started doing same thing. We do have one
bad motor mount thats on the top. Just
recently replaced all the spark plugs.
Please please any help is greatly
appreciated.. My husband already had to
call out of work today. Thanks everyone.

yes he has rotated them. it was pulling to the right but now that he rotated its pulling to the left. he did notice that it wasn't shaking as bad. I figured if it was the cv joints we would hear clicking when we turned? am I correct on that? we just bought 2 new tires for the front in June, I tried to tell him and my gpa something was wrong with the tire when they first put it on at the dealership, but I was told that it probably needed an alignment. when I called carquest, I was told it sounded like a tire that was separating. Put on spare this morning still shaking but not as bad and definitely not pulling as bad.

I’m having the exact same problem right now on my 2007 Camry and have had the issue for around 2 months. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

I have this problem with my Camry 2012, visited the garage today. The car was inspected and my mechanic told me, its the transmission issue and its not a big deal it can work for years. You will feel a bit of vibrating when driving in 40 or 60 but if you floor it, it goes away also when drive it in sport mode, i dont feel.

I’m having the same problem with my 2012 Camry and it’s getting worse. I was wondering if it ECO setting trying to engage or a faulty fuel injector? Idk kind of nervous to bring it in for a highly expensive problem solving at the dealership. But I’m afraid to let it go an have it cost more down the road

I’m having the same problem with my 2005 Camry, 1st. I tried to reset it and it helps. However, the shaking came back and this time it stays. I guess the caused is the engine mount need to be changed, but not sure. The mileages is >140,000. You may try this site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S9B3IhK_Tc

Took my car to the Toyota dealer for the same issue and they said it's because of worn inner cv joints. They recommended replacing both CV axles, which would cost me $2000 at the dealer, however, my local mechanic said he would replace each at $350 a piece.

I have this with my 2011 Camry. I read on an Acura forum that it is the torque converter that is going out and it needs to be replaced with a power control module. I know it’s a different manufacturer but it sounds like the same problem. I have a hard time believing it’s related to axels or motor mounts or you would experience the problem across a wider range of speeds. Mine only happens from 40-50mph. Mostly around 40mph.
