The earlier Durangos were a full frame vehicle with the same frame as the Dakota mid-size pickup. The Dakota midsize pickup of that era was rated at 10,000 lb. towing capacity with the 4.7 liter engine. (By the way it is not a motor unless it is electric. Gasoline vehicles are powered by an internal combustion engine.) The 4.7 engine is very capable of this. whoever said this probably thinks only size matters but the 4.7 would out pull many other manufacturerers much larger engines.
