How to repair rear door handle on 2000 Tahoe on a lift door

The latch broke and door will not open.  Can still open the window of the back door.

You will have to take the plastic cover off on the inside of the trunk in the car to get to the lock assembly and then you can probably rig something up and find the piece you need to replace usually what happens is the rod connecting the door handle to the actuator and lock breaks or falls off.
