Dash warning lights
Asked by Cody Jun 07, 2013 at 07:36 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Just bought a 2006 chevy trailblazer LS
today with 70k miles on it. Test drove it
and everything seemed fine to me. On the
way home the ABS, Parking Brake,
Maintenance Required and the Traction
Control light came on. It still runs fine and I
contacted the previous owners and they
said they hadn't had any problems
whatsoever with the vehicle. Is this a
common occurrence and what is the
solution?

i have seen so many trailblazers with this same problem and more a/c will go out speed gauge will go out ( use you're gps, for speed gauge) rear window wiper, tail lights and possibly more i hate to be the one to break it to you i hope urone of the few it doesnt happen to. and the biggest problem is have not a mechanic yet thats able to explain or completely rid the problem.
Yes I really hope I am one of the few but with my luck, all of the rest will happen tomorrow
does it have the stock radio? if not the radio could be the issue as the can communication goes through it.
Yes it does have the stock radio in it
Here are some recalls on that vehicle that might interest you. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2006/chevrolet/trailblazer/recalls/
Thank you, I just checked my VIN# on the GM site and there is an active recall, it is a drivers door control module
That's the recall about a circuit board and a potential fire issue if it shorts out. Would not wait to long before you get it fixed.
Yeah I'm not gonna wait around to find out, gonna call the dealership tomorrow and see if it has been fixed or not
That's good. You know it's serious when in the recall wording they ask owners to park outside till a remedy fix is made. Good luck. Hope you can get it fixed.
Thanks and I hope I do too
Just pulled the codes C0550, C0244 and U1026

Hope some of that helps
I appreciate the info, I just don't know why it threw all those codes at once tho
From what I have read possibly bad abs module. Only repair I have found is to replace the module. This is for an 06 but might also pertain to yours. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/118988-c0550-help/
My abs light is own engine light on and looks like traction lights on too
Mine did it too...easy fix...just replace the ignition switch...not the switch the key goes in but behind dash under the steering column
What does this light mean
Anyone know what that light means?
