my outback 2001 died when backing up and wont start now

My outback started fine put it in reverse and backed up and
died what would cause this??

Help me please I need to start somewhere. Car ran fine today got in started it backed up and died . Will not start at all. Put gas in to make sure. Had half a tank yesterday than checked oil battery cabels and I need someone to tell me what to try next
