Clunking noise
Original owner. 91K miles. Nothing replaced so far except tires, brakes,
battery. Recently when I turn left or right...and even worse if going down hill
at same time and making tight turns (I live in WV, so not uncommon)...I hear
a clunking noise. Not just one, but two or three little clunks not too loud, but
noticeable, then I straighten out, go a bit farther, hear a couple more clunks,
then car is fine. Didn't hear this until after having brakes replaced. I heard
some other weird noises when I first picked the car up....more of a
rubbing/screeching noise. That problem seemed to come from rear tires, but
can't be certain about front tires. Took it back to them, and they said
normal...brakes will rub a bit before they settle in. Sounded wrong to me.
The noise would get pretty loud at times. Wish my Dad was still alive. He
was a car genius. Anybody know what might be causing? And if those two
things could be related? Or were they telling the truth and this clunking
sound is just something normal at 90K miles like maybe tie rod ends?
Wouldn't surprise me I guess with the terrible pot-holey roads we have here!
Thanks!
