INSPECTION COMPUTER FAILS TO DO FINAL STEP IN APPROVAL

Took to get inspected. Computer wouldn't connect. Replaced fuse to truck computer and took back to inspection. Went through all the steps except final and wouldn't connect.Since the truck computer had not been working properly prior to taking back in, does the truck need to be driven for a while before computer has current stats? Is that how that works?

You need to complete a "drive cycle" for your truck. To see what Chevrolet requires for that, you'll need to either check your owner's manual or Google your year and model. It generally requires travelling at various speeds for up to 50 miles before things are synchronized properly.
