Transmission slip in D only

Asked by Jeff May 01, 2020 at 02:46 PM about the 2007 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Wondering if there was a reasonable repair for a
transmission slip that only occurs while in drive. If I
shift to 1st 2nd or reverse the truck moves no
problem. Only when shifted into D does the issue
occur. Fluid/Filter? Sensor? Both? None? Any
experiences would be appriciated

You'd have to have a trans mechanic diagnose it, either by experience or with proper equipment. It might be a solenoid issue, or it could mean your looking at a rebuild. We'd only be guessing.
