How many transmission filters does the truck have

a garage said that some trannys have a filter inside you have to take the fluid plate of to get to it

drain. undo the eighteen or so bolts, of course you are going to want a brand new transmission gasket. The torque converter contains almost a gallon of transmission fluid so if you want to be thorough will drain that one too, then, yes is a clamp plate holding the filter in. relplace this filter, clean the surfaces for the installaton of the new gasket. transmission pan bolts are tricky. break out with your 1/8 drive ratchet and be delicate. vary which bolt your tightning as if you were drawing a star to get them even. Hand tighten only to just snug---DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. top off the transmission (think the engine has to be running to cirulate the blood thru the converter to get a take on the level...and...done~
