put a new water pump on my 2008 ford escape now it wont start

Did you accidentally disconnect some wires?

If possible, take battery to a local auto parts store that tests batteries for free to see what condition it is in. Changing the water pump should have absolutely no affect on the battery unless - as the other poster asked - some wires are disconnected, specifically the battery cables.
