The orange coolant is Dextral (sp.) It is different than the green Prestone coolant. That is what you would have to use. So anyway, sounds like the thermostat needs to be changed out.

the plenum diversion door or actuator may not be working , when you change selector you should hear the door open or shut ,take a look and see if it's working . My mechanic cleaned the contacts on the selector for me once and that took care of it ,
