Need help, want larger wheels and tires on my H3

Hi, Ive been reading some posts about increasing the size of wheels and tires for a stock H3 and have a few questions. In the posts I have read that I can increase the size of the wheel/tire package up to 2-3 inches without need for a lift kit, larger breaks or any retuning. If I increase the size of my wheel from 16" to 18", I would need to find a tire with a 2" smaller side wall to keep the same diameter, is that how it works??? I want to keep the off road performance of my truck and am looking at nitto or alike pseudo knobby tires. Does anyone have any experience in sizing the tires for an already increased rim size of 18" to fit in a stock H3?

you can get a 3 inch lift without a kit the back get axle saddles (pirches) and make the leafs axle under not axle over. the front look for a 3 inch lift knuckle. try from an s-10, h3s are based on the s-10. wheels, go 2 inches wider then stock, and tiresgo 2 inches then stock. after all that check your lines, shafts, and balljoints. check for tire rub.once you get the right combination, it'll be a good rig.

I see you want to go to a 18", if its worth anything I just put Nitto's 315/75/16 on the OEM Rim. I adjusted to Torsion Bar nuts, easy to do and got the front end to match the rear in height. Looks awsome and I have several people say they cant believe I got 35's on the stock suspension, you can without a suspension lift.....
