alternator problems 08 camry le

Asked by Chaquille93 Jul 14, 2017 at 10:22 PM about the 2008 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced my battery and two days later my
altanator went bad so I bought the part and replaced it
also the altanator killed my battery before I was able to
replace. Soon after fixing it myself I went to start the car
and nothing happened so I took the battery to go get
charged for a hour and put it back in so now all
dashboard lights come on but will not start up my
windows will not roll up and my radio and a/c will not cut
on or light up I'm all out of ideas here I need help also I
tried using a test pen on the fuses beside the battery but
can't reach the ones on the inside

Did you notice any sparking or arcing when you were replacing parts? What engine in this vehicle?

Well....my guess would be a blown Alternator Fuse. These high amp fuses are there to protect against installing battery incorrectly.....or arcing that fat wire on the Alternator to ground. This is usually a bolt in fuse and may be difficult to replace. You will need a test light and or a voltmeter to check it out. It is usually located under the hood .
