Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have just purchased a 2008 Camry SE - 4 cylinder - stick shift. What are your thoughts on using synthetic oil? If I use synthetic:
Should I still use OW-20 or 5W-20 or something else?
Should I still change the oil every 6 months / 8000 km?

I am an AMSOIL dealer which is a very fine synthetic lubrication. Oil is a term better used for petroleum products made from carbon dinosaur manure. Your car came with synthetic lubrication so use the same weight"lubrication"and by the way by federal law you can use any filter and any oil as long as it meets the specs of your automobile (API) certified Americam Petroleum Industry which had little to do with synthetics until about ten years ago. Amsoil was the firstsynthetic for cars over thirty years ago and is still the leader in fine synthetics with all the rest watching them very close. Several NASCAR teams and hundreds of other racers on the pro circuit use Amsoil some have cars with another Petro company painted all over the yellow car they drive from Pennsylvania. Any how use it but read up on who is the best Amsoil Mobil 1 Motule Purple about in that order. I have used Amsoil and run it in everything I own and 236.000 miles on a vehicle with nothing but filter changes and top up no oil change. My sports cars I baby and change at 7000-12000 depending on which oil I am running. You can contact me for more info at krugerrand38@yahoo.com please say about Amsoil in subject line. You will never find Amsoil on the shelf at Autozone or WalMart. Jim the Synth Man
