Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey there. so I bought my 2010 Camry in 2011 and my ex was a mechanic at a shop & put conventional oil in vs. synthetic. I've carried suit doing oil changes at multiple oil places between Toyota dealership & private garage & meineke. I asked Toyota if it was possible to swtich back to synthetic as we hit 116,000 miles & sounds a bit loud on the start. I googled the synthetic is best for the cold start/start up faze. The lady said at this point using conventional all this time may not be able to switch to synthetic & could shock the engine. Did I kill my car??

I went to Toyota back in Dec. 2015 for a 100,000 mile service & all they did was replace the spark plugs. I figured at 100,000 something should be done to the car. I was later told transmission & radiator flushes are recommended. The car sounds louder with almost not a ticking but a slight mechanical noise in the beginning, once it warms up she's fine & not ticking or getting loud on accerlation. When driving she seems normal. Could I need a timing adjustment or is it probably because of the oil switch issue? Diagnostic charges are now like, $130 at the dealership...not sure what to do to this car. Are the fluid flushes necessary? I want to do what is necessary to maintain the car now that we are almost at 120,000 miles.

it takes about a few mins of warm up for it to quiet down and once we drive it sounds normal minus a slight mechanic here or there. want to get a video so that maybe someone can listen and have some input
