Did you get all the wires reconnected? Were there more than one large wire on the battery stud of the alternator? Is there a theft light flashing on the dash? Why did you replace the alternator? I assume you checked the battery cables BOTH ends. No click actually sounds like a anti theft problem. Do the headlights come on? I'll wait for an answer for as long as it takes me to have a beer or perhaps Two

Still sounds like a theft system problem

These systems are complicated even for most pro's and I think your best bet is a good mechanic, many times I'll sugest the dealer but not in the case of Cadilac, tell you why.Years ago when the cars ignition was controlled as it were by breaker points I tuned a Cadi and when I gave the customer his bill he thought I'd made a mistake because our DELCO point set was twenty dollars cheaper than that of the dealer, the dealer said Cadi points were different from a cheaper Chevy even though the numbers were the same. He never returned to the dealer. Sorry I wish I could' ve been more help.
