Sounds like multiple problems. If it wouldn't start because the battery was dead
then either you left something on that killed the battery, or there are loose or dirty
electrical connections or you need a new battery. Have the battery load tested
and make sure the main connections are tight. If gauges speedometer and
steering were acting up and the car wasn't actually overheating then that's another
sign of a possible worn out battery. It's happened to my car. Make sure the
radiator is full of coolant though. As for power steering fluid your car doesn't have
any so you don't need to worry about that. The light simply indicated that the
power steering has failed. If the light goes off again it means the steering is
working again. Again probably a weak battery.
