Help! Only works in reverse.

Asked by Sammykins Oct 28, 2016 at 05:09 AM about the 2008 Pontiac G6 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 with 75,000 miles on it.
Tonight driving home it started to slow down and
then all of a sudden wouldn't drive forwar, just
would go backwards. I had to pull into an empty
gas station and ask a family member for a ride
home. I have never had a problem like this before
and no engine lights came on or anything. I was
told it could be due to low transmission fluids, is
this true? Don't know what to do because I was
going to trade it in to get another car. I don't know if
I should call the dealership and see if they could
help. Any suggestions ?

Check the transmission fluid level. The owners manual will tell you how but if you ran it that low then it is probably shot. Bummer.
