I just purchased a 2008 Nissan maxima last week, I drove it home (about 45 miles) and I had no issues. well I got home and couple hours I turne it on for 15min and all of a sudden there is smoke coming out of the engine, looks like it overheated. Any ideas on what it could be?

Check all your fluid levels? Also did they give you any kind of warranty? Might be something simple like a busted hose but could be something more major. Inspect engine to fine out exactly where the smoke is coming from.
