One of the wires connecting the to my left front turn signal socket broke as I was trying to remove a stubborn light bulb. Easy fix?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I tried to replace the bulb in my left front turn signal. Hard to get to due to
battery location, but I managed to get the socket out of the plug. Could not
get the bulb out of the socket -- really stuck -- and then it broke. Got pliers
to try to get the metal part of the bulb out of the socket, and in the process
one of the wires to the socket got detached. Do I have to get the whole
socket replaced or can that wire be fixed?

If you had that much trouble getting the bulb out of the socket it is best just to get another socket they are not expensive and easy to install.

Buy the new socket and splice its wires to the ones on the car. If the battery does not make this easy to get to, remove it first.

Thanks. No matter what I do, that battery has to come out before I can fix it!

A new pig tail should fix it. You will need to solder it in to have a good job though.
