The rgular Mazda3 takes regular. The 'SPEED3 takes premium, according to Cars.com.

Yep, the NA 2.3L engine drinks regular, the 2.3L DISI Turbo will take only 91+ octane premium

The 3.3 L Turbo in the Mazdaspeed takes 91. Non-Turbo, 87 Octane

PREMIUM ONLY. I use 91 here in Denver, for thats our highest avalible octane. Anything below 91, and especially on hot days, will cause knock. WTF? 3.3 l T/C'ed? Its a 2.3, direct injection, K04 turbocharged MZR engine.
