If you have a base model, it could be caused by the lack of the thicker insulation that you'd find on the SLT and higher end models and those with carpet. If you have and SLT or this is something that is a recent occurrence, it could be that you have a leak in your heating system that is allowing heat to escape in the left footwell or directing it toward that area, possibly caused by a loose or torn duct, defective blend door, and or dash control unit.
