my 2008 avalanche z71 has sticky rear door handles and are very difficult to open the rear doors a one handle came right off

Sounds like your Avalanche was recently repaired, prior to your ownership. I never had a issue with mine, but my take on this would have to be... go to a collision shop, and have them replace the handles. I doubt it would be that much, but if you have a child, its better to get it fixed now than to pay for the mistake later.
