I have a 2009 Forester and was recently told the back brakes need to be replaced but the front were like new. Why is this?

Brakes dont have to be done all at once, they can be done in sets (front and rear) since the front brakes on a car do most of the braking work they are going to be replaced first most commonly. Sounds like the fronts were done but not the rear at the same time. Have the rears done and all will be fine.

I have the same car. My back brakes go twice as often as the fronts.....
